Unity, perfection and precision

Unity, perfection and precision

First, the search for a theme. The search for a connection, for unity. Then it starts to brew. Day and night. Wrestling with an idea. Everything else has to make way; friends, acquaintances, the family. Sketches, more sketches. Juggling with the wishes of the client and the esthetic norms of the artist. Drawing, hours spent bent over the desk, extremely intense. Precision work. With pencil, with ecoline, with water colours. The image has to be as clear as possible on the flat surface. Perfect. Fighting against deadlines. But then comes the reward. The product. The stamp.
